Welcome back to the Hot Mess Medium Show! This is (part 1) of an episode many of my OG listeners have been waiting for. The one where I finally spill a droplet of tea about the evolution of my spirituality and where I stand now, spiritually.
Let this episode be an example of how spirituality is meant to shift and evolve and how your personal relationship with a Higher Power is a personal journey.
It's not a “one-size-fits-all”. Extremes are unhealthy (so I've learned from experience). No one knows the ultimate truth while existing as a human here on planet earth. Which is why it is so important to develop your own intuition! Which, I personally believe, is our own personal connection to the Creator.
I've prefaced sharing my experience in this episode but I want to share this also…
I am sharing my own personal experiences. I am not coming from a space of judgement or knowing it all (because I definitely don't know it all). Something traumatic happened that changed the trajectory of my life and business and although at the time, it was extremely challenging to face and navigate, today I am so eternally grateful to be where and who I am now.
In addition to letting go of certain practices and beliefs, I am ADDING new practices and beliefs as I continue to re-learn more about my Indigenous roots as a First Nation woman.
I know in my heart I will continue to change, grow and evolve spiritually because we are literally Spirit in a body and that is part of living this life.
I think it's a beautiful thing that we are all so different and we are all just figuring things out for the first time with wobbly legs, you know?

But looking back, I'm like, OK, I mean, I guess I could put myself in that box, like that version of myself in that box.

The things that I was doing and what I believed and how I was navigating my spirituality, you know.

Born and raised Catholic like I was baptized Catholic.

My I went to Catholic school my whole life.

Grandfather was a.

So, you know, Catholicism was always a big part of my life.

I remember having a relationship with, you know, God and Jesus as a child.

But it's not like like, aside from going to church every Sunday, it's not like.

We were super religious in the home, you know. So basically like I would pray, you know, I would, I would pray.

I felt.

Guilty and like I was going to get.

Trouble with God?

You know, if I did bad things but wasn't like a super strict religious upbringing, you know?

And then you know, in my teen years, I definitely steered away from having a relationship with God.

Just kind of went on a different.

I was very anxious, extremely highly sensitive, depressed like.

Yeah, we don't have to get into that, but I just I I wasn't.

Didn't feel a connection to God then, although I definitely had.

Like like looking back now, I definitely had experiences.

Where God was trying to reveal himself to me.

Yeah. And like I remember having an experience when I worked at a chip stand.

It's so weird actually talking about.

Yeah, I think it was 15.

A very like, promiscuous teenager.

You know, I wasn't living at my parents home anymore.

Wasn't allowed.

I was living with my sister and I was just kind of, you know, getting into trouble and things like that. So anyways.

I can vividly remember I was doing a closing shift by myself and.

I notice this homeless man, which, by the way, like there's no like we don't have homeless people in my small town like I had never seen this man before.

It was the weirdest thing.

Thing like what was clearly a homeless person going through the garbage like he was looking for something to eat and drink in the garbage and not just it.

Really bothered me, and I remember I had made.

A few boxing tips that day and I had, like a granola bar and and that so and I saw that he was like trying to drink like at someones old coffee.

So I grabbed my tips. I go into the.

The store next to like it was owned by the same.

It's like a gas station convenience store and then right next to it was the.

The chip.

I go into the store and I got him a coffee.

And anyway so.

Outside to give him the money and the coffee, and like a granola bar. And I was like, here you go. Like like, this is for you.

I remember being really shy.

Oh my God, this is how I know.

I'm getting.

This is how I know that there's something to this.

This was not a regular experience, I just.

I don't even know how to put it into words.

My intuition, like everything in my body at 15 years old.

And like I'm having such an emotional reaction right now, because every time I think of it, it just like moves me.

There was just something about him that was like so.

And yeah, so anyways, I gave him that and he was.

He gave me a big smile and I just. I don't know. It just touched me and it it had nothing to do with the fact that Lego would, being a good person.

And I'm you know, giving.

Giving this to him, and I feel so good about myself.

Wasn't that whatsoever.

Honest. Just like the interaction of just looking in his eyes and him looking into my soul.

Just like this overwhelming inner knowing that I'm in the presence of.

Someone wholly that's like the only way I could describe it anyways.

I remember even telling my grandma about it.

I don't how long afterwards, but I remember telling her about it and I like cried and she cried. Like, why were we crying about this?

You know, I've given I've given money to homeless people. You know, I've I've given.

But I never felt that way.

The way that I felt when this man looked into my eyes and when he smiled, it was like I'm here.

OK, back to the point of this episode.

So my journey with it so yeah.

After all that, OK, let me think, you know, ended up being a Teen Mom.

Ended up having more children getting married. All that stuff, OK.

And then.

Again, I never really went back to.

Like connecting to a higher power I never like.

Had that.

It it just wasn't in my awareness that like there's something bigger than us, you know, like it was kind of there, but not I.

I wasn't actively.

Working on my relationship with God or anything like that. I really did leave, you know, religion behind.

Again, had experiences here and there.

Um spirit with intuition, with, you know, my deep empathy and highly sensitivity and things like that for sure.

But yeah, that was about it.

Then you know I turned.

I had my fourth child and that's what initiated me into my spiritual awakening.

That's honestly how it all started.

It actually looking back now, it definitely started when I was pregnant with her. But yeah, after I gave birth to her.

Um, that's when my, you know, intuition started heightening. My highly sensitivity was heightening.

I don't know how I could possibly get, you know, more sensitive, but I I definitely got more sensitive.

Anyways, so just.

That's just where it all started, you know.

Then from there I.

You kind of start to awaken and see things from a higher perspective, and then you you're starting to get curious and you're starting to become more open and you're starting to like.

Read about it. You're starting to hear about it.

You know, you're just you're kind of looking for people who may be on a similar path.

I started my journey with mediumship because that's what was really calling to me, and that felt like okay. There's something here for me, right? Like I.

I started practicing.

And doing readings you know, through word of mouth and then that's how my whole business started was like that.

And then so from there.

Over time, realizing that's not for me anymore.

You know, and there was always this feeling of like, I'm on a mission and I've got to do these things in the astral realm to.

It's all burning down. That's what sort of happened.

Like in the spiritual community.

And there was a lot of people who turned to Jesus, which is great, great for them, absolutely.

It's like literally. Still, I'm like I've been.

I still have PTSD. I'm not even kidding you.

It was such a traumatic time.

Like trauma times 1000.

Obviously there's worse things in life, but my whole world was crumbling it. It felt like.

I wasn't well in my mind when this happened.

I literally had an existential crisis.

Identity crisis. I was in crisis.

It was not.

I can laugh about it now, but it was not good and so many others were going through it too, like I literally had people coming to me seeking comfort for me.

I was no better.

I was in no better position, so I tried my best to hold space for people.

But again, like I was in the same boat.

My God, I questioned everything.

And just was like, what is even real?

So I remember like literally getting on my knees and being like God.

My life is in your hands.

2021 that's when it all happened.

I just. It's just amazing the path I was taking on and also in 2021 is when I found out I had cancer.

I truly feel like I've just been on this path of, like restoration. You know, being restored.

So just organically, I started to no longer desire to do some of the things that I was doing and I I kind of went, you know from 1 extreme to the other like so many people do, especially in times of crisis and fear. And you know you're on your.

And like you're questioning everything. Whatever.

For a while I was like, I just want to feel as normal as possible. And so I started.
